Mark & Dana, I love your poem/song/essay on summer, but it seems woefully out of sync with the kind of heat we’re getting in late June 2022.

Forecasts here in Liberty, on the Upper Texas Gulf Coast, for 3 days including today (Thursday through Saturday) of 100° each and 102° on Sunday are atypical until the Devil’s Anvil Days of late August and early September.

If preheated coastal waters foretell hurricane paths, look out! We may have more clean swept beachfront property for sale by winter, but the beaches may be receding faster than FEMA can condemn old new houses, leaving abandoned long-legged bones behind in the surf.

The so called Ike Dike may also be too late in coming. The times, they are most certainly a-changin’.
